The first lady’s form-fitting dress features long sleeves, a mock turtleneck, and a hemline that stops right above her ankles.

Her caramel-colored hair is worn down in loose waves around her shoulders, which has become somewhat of her signature style.

While she is dazzling in white, her 72-year-old husband is donning a classic black tux and a smile on his face as he poses with his wife.

‘Merry Christmas from President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump. @realdonaldtrump & @FLOTUS are seen Saturday, December 15, in their official 2018 Christmas portrait, in the Cross Hall of the White House in Washington, D.C. (Official White House Photo by Andrea Hanks),’ reads the caption on the Instagram post.

The White House released two official portraits, and the second is a close-up version of the full-length photograph that was shared on Melania’s Instagram page.

In the second image, the couple’s smiles are outshining the holiday decor, which can still be seen in the background.

Holiday party: White House photographer Andrea Hanks took the photos last Saturday during the Congressional Ball that was held in the grand foyer of the White House

All smiles: Melania, 48, looked dazzling in a white sequin gown by Céline

The couple chose to pose in front of the traditional Christmas trees in the Cross Hall instead of the red cranberry trees that were mercilessly mocked on social media.

When this year’s White House Christmas decorations were first unveiled, critics calls the red trees ‘creepy’ and compared them to everything from the red handmaids dresses worn by the women forced into sexual slavery in The Handmaid’s Tale and the blood that flows down the hallway in the 1980 horror film The Shining.

However, Melania made it clear during a recent interview that she is a fan of red trees, which were a part of her ‘American Treasures’ holiday decor.

‘We are in the 21st century and everyone has different tastes, but I think they look fantastic,’ she said. ‘I hope everyone will come over and visit it. In real life, they look even more beautiful.’

White House photographer Andrea Hanks took the official White House portrait last Saturday during the Congressional Ball that was held in the grand foyer of the White House.

Melania was by her husband’s side as they made a grand entrance as the band played Hail to the Chief.

Trump addressed the crowd with a four-minute speech celebrating his two years in office, claiming ‘no administration has done more in the first two years than the Trump administration.’

He welcomed the audience to enjoy the ‘special’ grandeur of the White House adding that he and Melania love living there.

‘To me, it’s a happy place,’ he said, adding that it ‘is an incredible place to be.’

Happy: Trump said that he and Melania love living at the White House and he called his home ‘an incredible place to be’

Night! Trump and Melania went back upstairs after spending just 29 minutes at the party

He later wished the crowd a happy Christmas, Hanukkah, and New Year and passed the mic to Melania, who he commended for doing ‘a job well done’ with the decorations.

‘Welcome to the White House. Enjoy the evening. Merry Christmas and happy and healthy New Year,’ the beaming first lady said.

Vice President Mike Pence and Second Lady Karen Pence were also in attendance at the ball, as were the president’s daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner.

The president was all smiles in his tuxedo and didn’t break a sweat as he talked about his ‘great’ two years in office, despite the looming probe by special counsel Robert Mueller into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential elections.

However, Melania and Trump didn’t linger for long and headed back upstairs just 29 minutes after arriving.

A few days later, a number of Trump’s former officials — some of whom have been fired by the president himself — were in attendance at the White House Christmas Party on Monday night.

The looming  Mueller investigation, which has landed a number of Trump’s associates in jail, seemed to be the farthest thing from everyone’s minds as they posed for photos together and enjoyed the night.

Former White House Chief of Staff John Kelly, who is rumored to no longer be on speaking terms with Trump, happily smiled for photos during the celebration.

Christmas spirit? They hosted a number of Trump’s former officials — some of whom had been fired by the president himself — at the White House Christmas Party on Monday night

Guests: Trump’s eldest son Donald Trump Jr. was in attendance with girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle, who posted a picture on Instagram

Donald Trump Jr. attended the soiree with his girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle, who posted a picture of the couple on Instagram.

The former Fox News host sported a knee-length long-sleeved black dress for the occasion, nearly matching the sleeveless black dress Melania had chosen for the night.

A sharp contrast to the gown she wore to the Congressional ball, the first lady opted for a simple sheath for the party.

Entertainment for the guests included the Army Choir, which sang Christmas carols, tables full of holiday treats, including eggnog, and even a replica of the White House built entirely out of gingerbread.

By the time Christmas Day comes and goes, Trump will have attended 21 Christmas parties for a total of 52 hours, according to New York Magazine.

White House sources have revealed that Trump hates attending Christmas parties as part of his presidential duties — especially when it comes to taking photos and shaking hands.

‘It’s just a lot,’ one senior White House official told the site. ‘They’re hosting all these people, half of whom they don’t know.’

‘He just gets impatient. He likes to go, go, go. Sitting through things, he gets restless.’
