Premier League Fantasy Football tips: Ones to watch in August

Fantasy football tips should be your bread and butter right now.

The Premier League is back on FRIDAY – when Liverpool host Norwich – so your fantasy football team should be taking priority over work, family and the rest of the irrelevant stuff.

We’re only half joking, too.

Hundreds of thousands of you have already signed up to play Dream Team – which is completely free – so which players are we most intrigued by in the opening weeks?

Fantasy Football Tips: Premier League players to watch in August

1 Nicolas Pepe

Arsenal desperately needed a centre-back, so they splashed £72m on a shiny new winger instead.

Makes sense, right?

Fantasy football fans won’t care though. Pepe is another exciting attacking option, being both cheap at £3.5m AND a midfielder.

Like any mega new signing he’ll be expected to hit the ground running, with Dream Team managers notoriously impatient.

2 Jack Grealish

The Villa lad taking his boyhood club back to the promised land; it’s almost fairy tale stuff.

But Grealish will have many doubters to silence this season – he has the look, but can he make the grade after tearing up the Championship?

Villa will need him to and at £2.5m he could become a real bargain if he starts firing.

So far Grealish features in 5.2% of teams, more than Callum Wilson, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Felipe Anderson.

3 Youri Tielemans

Remember Papiss Cisse?

Cisse had an explosive first six months after moving to Newcastle in January 2011, but then faded drastically.

Tielemans will be out to prove his Premier League career has more endurance than that after making his loan spell at Leicester permanent this summer.

Spurs wanted him, United wanted him, and Dream Team managers will want him after his brilliant six months at the back end of last season. Flash in the pan? We hope not…

4 Christian Pulisic

Eden Hazard has left Chelsea and there’s a gaping attacking, goalscoring, creative hole left in his absence.

So no pressure, Christian.

The guy already earmarked as the greatest American footballer of all time has some big shoes to fill during a real transition period for the Blues.

At 14.9% he’s the most popular Chelsea player so far and he shone in pre-season.

5 Naby Keita

Liverpool fans thought they finally had a player worthy of the number eight shirt following Steven Gerrard’s exit.

But Keita took his time to settle and injuries scuppered his place in the Champions League final.

With Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Adam Lallana ‘like new signings’ competition for places at Anfield is hot.

But Keita finished last season strongly and if he can replicate his Bundesliga form with Leizpig he will become a real asset.
