New Moon horoscope: What does today’s April New Moon in Aries mean for YOU?

The New Moon will vanish from the skies in just a few hours when it peaks around 9.50am BST over the UK. In astronomy, the New Moon phase of the lunar calendar marks the moment the Sun and the Moon are lined across from one another. This results in the Moon’s sunlit side facing entirely away from the Earth and the lunar orb effectively disappears for about two to three days. The opposite of the New Moon occurs during a Full Moon when the Moon is on the other side of the Earth and its sunlit side faces us completely.

In astrology, however, the New Moon has a much deeper and more mystical meaning and power.

According to astrologer Julian Venables of LondonAstrologer.com, the Moon and the Sun are in conjunction today in the zodiac of Aries.

Aries is the very first sign on the horoscope charts and is represented by a ram looking over its shoulder.

Mr Venables told Exress.co.uk the New Moon represents a mix and blend of the properties the Moon and Sun are known for.

He said: “New Moons happen once a month and it is the fusion of the willpower, which is the Sun, with the emotional reactions and responses, which is the Moon.

“So it often puts people into the spotlight. Now Aries, the qualities of Aries are very ambitious, are assertive, are very competitive and also quite courageous.

“Aries likes to be individualistic and sometimes it has to pair up with other people.”

The astrologer said a lot of what is currently happening in the stars with this combination is reflected in the political mess Britain has found itself in.

As the Moon and the Sun unify today in Aries, Mr Venables said both the left and right side of British politics will have to “unify” as “one ship”.

The astrologer suggested the two-party system might soon disappear only to give way to some form of representative democracy.

This is because the Aries Moon is just the start of a new cycle, new beginnings, new change. But that is not all that happening right now.

Mr Venables said: “If you look at the Aries New Moon chart, there’s Venus and Mercury still in Pisces.

“This means the planets are about merging and unifying but there’s a confusion behind it.”

Pisces, the astrologer argued, has a tendency to get lost in the “deep waters” of merging.

But the New Moon in Aries is also squaring off the planet Saturn in Capricorn, which is another major aspect to look out for.

Mr Venables also the energies are building up with Saturn and Pluto in conjunction in Capricorn.

He said: “Pluto’s been in Capricorn since the financial crash of 2008, in fact, it was the day that Pluto moved into Capricorn that the Lehman Brothers crashed and that resulted in the collapse.

“So what Pluto is actually doing, is Pluto digs up unavoidably all the worst things so that it can change.”

As a result, this might feel like a particularly uncomfortable time to have to deal with or face the prospect of change.

Pluto will come into conflict with your ego, which will oppose all transformation and will result in a sense of inner struggle.

Once the change is set into motion, Saturn will make sure it takes shape and is real.
