Millionaire who killed lover in S&M session was ‘sex addict who bedded dozens’

A millionaire who killed his young lover during an S&M session was a “sex addict” who bedded dozens of women, a friend claimed.

Property developer John Broadhurst, 40, left semi-naked Natalie Connolly to die at the foot of the staircase in their luxury home after they had “rough sex”.

Today Natalie’s relatives, wearing pink ribbons in her memory in court, wept as Broadhurst was jailed for just three years and eight months.

In a statement they said: “He left Natalie at the bottom of the stairs bleeding and in clear need of medical help.

"Instead of getting her the help she needed, he chose to go to bed and sleep…He has demonstrated what a callous, disrespectful person he really is.

“Natalie was a loving and caring daughter, granddaughter and sister, but, above all, she was a loving mother to her 10-year-old daughter.”

The couple had watched West Bromwich Albion play Manchester United in an executive box with friends hours before her death.

A poignant last photo of mum-of-one Natalie, 26, shows her in the corporate hospitality area at The Hawthorns.

Broadhurst denied murder but pleaded guilty to manslaughter during his trial last week. The dad-of-three has a fortune estimated at £15million.

Detectives believe Broadhurst attacked his lover after discovering she had been messaging other men.

But one friend claims he was cheating on Natalie, supposedly to satisfy his sex addiction.

The friend told the Mirror: “John is a sex addict, he couldn’t stop talking about sex and boasted he couldn’t get enough of it.

“He was on… adult dating sites and was sleeping with dozens of women. He flashed the cash to impress them. He was really open about it.”

Broadhurst left pregnant wife Charlotte Dummer, mother of two of his three children, after an affair with Natalie.

The friend, who did not want to be named, revealed how she and Broadhurst were open about their love for sadomasochistic sex.

Natalie, a receptionist, even posted S&M Facebook “memes” on her public profile page.

One read: “Sex isn’t sex without hair pulling, ass grabbing, neck holding, lip biting, neck sucking, pillow biting, back scratching.”

The friend said: “When the two of them were together, they were brazen and spoke about how they liked it ‘rough’. He was just obsessed with sex. It seems that obsession killed Natalie and now he’s looking at doing time inside.”

Natalie was discovered dead in their £600,000 home, in Kinver, Staffs, in December 2016.

She and Broadhurst had returned home from the football in his chauffeur-driven Range Rover that evening.

The couple then carried on boozing and also took cocaine before an S&M sex session. Natalie was found dead the next morning with 40 separate injuries.

Jailing Broadhurst at Birmingham crown court, Mr Justice Julian Knowles described his actions as “grossly irresponsible”.

He said: “You left that vulnerable young woman to die in the saddest and most avoidable of circumstances.”
