Meghan Markle Wore Victoria Beckham on Christmas Day — Here's Why That's Surprising

While Victoria and David Beckham may have scored an invitation to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding in May, that doesn’t mean the duchess is a champion of her fashion collection — at least not until now.

On Christmas Day, Markle stepped out alongside sister-in-law Kate Middleton wearing head-to-toe Victoria Beckham. Dressed in a navy wool midi dress underneath a matching coat by the British designer, Meghan teamed the designs with a feathered fascinator.

One of Meghan’s key accessories for her holiday outing was from Ms. Beckham’s collection: a black leather powder box bag.

Meghan may have appeared like a walking advertisement for Beckham’s fashions on Christmas, but she wasn’t always a fan. In May 2017, the former Suits star spoke to Glamour about how she felt Victoria’s dresses didn’t flatter her figure.

“What I’m starting to learn is, even though things look amazing on the hanger, it doesn’t mean they’re going to look amazing on me,” she told the publication. “For example, I love Victoria Beckham dresses, but I don’t have the long torso to support that silhouette.”

However, now that she’s expecting her first child with Harry, Meghan’s baby bump helped her pull off the look. “Obviously pregnancy changes the body vastly and means expectant mothers will reassess what works and what doesn’t,” celebrity stylist Lucas Armitage told The Daily Mail. “This time VB made the cut.”

And according to Armitage, the dress will likely become a staple in Markle’s pregnancy wardrobe. “The knitted dress is a perfect maternity number as its stretch will form a flattering fit and will be a useful piece throughout her first pregnancy.”

Even after baby, we’re sure Victoria would be more than happy to customize one of her designs for the duchess.
