LOL! Kacey Musgraves Celebrated Grammy Win With a Fried Chicken Sandwich

Kacey Musgraves celebrated her four Grammy wins earlier this month with a feast fit for the current queen of country. The acclaimed singer-songwriter, who walked away with four trophies on Sunday, February 10, marked the special occasion with not one, but two hearty meals.

The 30-year old songstress, who won trophies for Album of the Year, Best Country Album, Best Country Solo Performance and Best Country Song, recently told the New York Times Opens a New Window. her post-Grammys life has included “happy moments with the team, but also celebrating with food.”

More specifically, Musgraves noted that she has been “enjoying having some burgers,” and even noted the “plural nature” of her declaration, indicating she’s since eaten more than one of the tasty meat sandwiches.

In fact, the “High Horse” singer started her burger binge directly after her Grammy wins. “I went really hard at Fatburger,” she dished when asked how she celebrated that night. After stopping by an afterparty, Musgraves, who said she’s not “hugely” into that scene, really let loose.

“Not only did I have a fried chicken sandwich doused in buffalo sauce, but I also had a cheeseburger with jalapeños on it, and I ate both, 100 percent, and fries. I sat there and ate it in the restaurant in my Valentino dress.”

The award winner, who now has six Grammys total, is seemingly aware that going from a star-studded awards ceremony to a fast-food restaurant (in couture, no less!) isn’t exactly an everyday occurrence, even for her. “I went straight from shaking Mick Jagger’s hand to having a fried chicken sandwich in my hand,” she mused.

Food aside, another highlight from the songstress’ night was performing alongside Dolly Parton in an all-star tribute to the music legend. “If I would’ve just walked away from that night having just performed with Dolly, that would’ve felt like the win of a lifetime for myself,” Musgraves explained. “Because she is the ultimate, as far as I’m concerned.”

And even though she’s fresh off a quartet of Grammy wins and is taking time to enjoy some burgers, Musgraves is already looking ahead to her next album. “I will go poke around and see if I can catch some kind of creative wind, song wise, at some point soon,” the Texas native explained. “There are a couple songs that I really like. I have no idea where that’s going to go, but that’s the fun of it — exploring until you can find something to start packing into the next snowball.”
