Irreparable Relationships? LVP, Kyle and the ‘RHOBH’ Cast Tease Season 9

Things in Beverly Hills may never be the same. Lisa Vanderpump, Kyle Richards and their Real Housewives of Beverly Hills costars dished exclusively to Us Weekly about season 9 of the Bravo series — and revealed which friendships may be irreparable.

“There’s no quiet Housewife this season,” Kyle, 50, admits, noting that while some relationships “fell apart,” other friendships “connected” during the season.

“Honestly everything was unexpected,” she continues. “There have been seasons where I would say, ‘Oh, this one is stirring the pot.’ I really don’t think that’s happening this season. It was just circumstances that happened that got everybody really upset and just started us on this crazy train of everybody getting upset and involved, but it wasn’t anyone purposely stirring things up at all. There was some stirring of the pot in the very beginning of the season, which led to a lot of it.”

Us broke the news in October 2018 that Vanderpump, 58, was on the outs with Kyle, Lisa Rinna, Teddi Mellencamp, Erika Jayne and Dorit Kemsley, but still on decent terms with newcomer Denise Richards. Viewers saw the beginning of the restaurant owner’s fallout with Dorit, 42, during the February 12 premiere after the Beverly Beach designer opted not to keep a dog she adopted from Vanderpump Dogs.

“Lisa and I have been friends for a while and we go into the season that way,” Dorit tells Us. “There’s a few things that I’m enlightened to and things have a way of twisting and turning.”

Erika adds that the “drama ebbs and flows.”

“I think that sometimes, you’re really in the thick of it and sometimes you’re not in the thick of it,” she tells Us. “This year I was a good friend to the women on the show and I support them and I support the truth.”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Bravo Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET. Scroll through for more inside scoop from the ladies:

Lisa Vanderpump

“I think viewers will have to form their own opinions after watching, but I always say ‘never say never,’” Vanderpump tells Us about repairing her friendships with the other women. “I think this season will surprise people. Relationships are definitely tested and fans will be taken on a crazy ride.”

Lisa Rinna

The Melrose Place alum reveals to Us that “nothing is the same” after season 9, noting the group dynamic has “completely changed.” Rinna adds that she had the most fun with “five” of her castmates, but she is “not saying who.”

Erika Jayne

The “XXPEN$IVE” singer echoed Rinna’s thoughts, telling Us that “five” of the cast members “see the drama one way.”

“I did not say five on one,” she clarifies. “I said that we see something one way. We have a view, our opinion is one way. … No one’s in my corner. I’m in my corner. It’s how I see what has happened and I see things the way other people see it.”

Erika adds that she did “share a lot of laughs” with her costars. “Lisa Rinna, Dorit and I laughed, Kyle, Teddi and I. I mean it was really a lot of fun. And Denise is great,” Erika says. “I mean it was fun, I mean you know, poor thing she’s been through it with the house burning down and, you know so there’s a lot to look at for the viewer.”

Dorit Kemsley

“There’s a lot of ebbs and flows and there’s new alliances and new friendships and new frenemies,” Dorit tells Us of the “different” season. “I think it’s important that you take the ride because it’s an exciting one and it’s true. The only thing that I can tell you is that in this wonderful world and beautiful group that we’re in, things change and friendships that you have may not be the same the following year and new alliances can build and grow.”

While the swimwear designer stayed mum on her current relationship with Vanderpump, whom she was close to before Dorit joined the show during season 7, the Connecticut native tells Us that she “never” anticipated feeling betrayed by the Vanderpump Rules star. Dorit is also, however, an “optimist.”

“I always want to believe that there’s a way back and there’s a way to repair. That’s just my nature,” Dorit says. “And if that’s possible and both parties want to, then I think it’s possible. And if one doesn’t, then it’s just not. And it’s completely dependent on the person. If it was me, I’d certainly like to try and mend fences and find a way forward. That’s the way I am. I think that there’s always a possibility and I do think that sometimes when there’s so much damage in a friendship, there has to be work that’s put in to repair it. And I think if both people are committed to doing that work and truly want to then there is that possibility. But not without a bit of work and not without both people wanting to.”

Denise Richards

The actress tells Us she “really enjoyed” her first season. “It felt like being the new girl at school, but they were all open and made me feel very welcomed right away. I wasn’t expecting that,” Denise admits. “I started to see during dinners things would usually go sideways … just didn’t know which direction. It was never boring.”
