I am scared to tell my mum I have had sex as she flipped over me just texting a guy

DEAR DEIDRE: MUM says I can tell her anything but I’m scared to tell her I’ve had sex.

I am an 18-year-old girl.

I was texting with a guy at the end of last year but when, after three months, I told Mum, she had a fit of rage.

A week ago I had sex with my boyfriend of two months. I told my friend and my brother overheard.

I think he told my mum and she is waiting for me to tell her.

But as she flipped out over the texting, what will she be like when I tell her I had sex?

DEIDRE SAYS: You are entitled to a private life and do not have to tell her in detail.

But you can say you are getting far closer to your boyfriend.

Use contraception to avoid unwanted pregnancy and protect you and your boyfriend from sexually transmitted infections.
