Hockey Fan Accidentally Blocked View of Nearly Entire Maple Leafs Game with His Head

One hockey fan gave NHL viewers a bit of a challenge during the Maple Leafs game against the Bruins on Sunday.

Those watching game 6 on NBC in the U.S. were greeted by the back of one man’s head, which blocked most of the action at Scotiabank Arena.

Several griped about the viewing experience on Twitter, with ESPN’s Greg Wyshynski dubbing the mishap “HEAD-O-VISION!”

Lamented actor Rob Lowe, “Watching the Boston Toronto hockey game and literally all I can see is the back of somebody’s head. NBC: needs to get their act together right now.”

The head in question — a Maple Leafs fan identified only as Scott — told Canada’s CBC that he realized after the game that he was the cause of the blockage.

“I sent the photo to my girlfriend and I said, ‘It kind of looks like it might be my head,’ ” Scott — who said he was sitting two rows in front of the camera — told CBC in an interview.

Continued Scott, “I didn’t know that my head was in the middle of the TV. The guy next to me is standing too but he’s a full foot shorter than me and you’d have no idea.”

NBC Sports told the Boston Globe that the camera issue was a result of “technical difficulties.”

According to the statement, “Technical difficulties prevented us from using the main game camera for a period of time towards the end of the game. The replacement camera had a slightly different perspective.”
