Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney wears official FDNY jacket to Met Gala 2019

Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney is ready to turn up the heat on the Met Ball red carpet.

The politico will arrive at Monday’s fête donning a bright yellow dress and an official FDNY jacket to raise awareness for the 9-11 Victims Compensation Fund.

“It’s fashion with a purpose,” she told us. “I’m not Versace, I’m not Gucci, I’m FDNY. The fire department is the best designer in the world, worn by more people than any other designer in the city of New York.”

Maloney has introduced a new bill to renew and permanently fund the Victims Compensation fund, which helps first responders and survivors suffering from 9/11 illness.

Her dress is designed by Vassilis Emmanuel Zoulias.
