‘Beautiful’ woman, 22, dies after car smashes into bus injuring another five

The family of a 22-year-old woman who died after her car smashed into a bus have paid tribute to their "beautiful, kind daughter".

Alexandra Ross, from Macclesfield, Cheshire, died following the horror crash on Thursday afternoon.

Ms Ross was driving a red Ford KA when it crashed into a bus on the A537, near Henbury, in Manchester around 1.39pm.

She was pronounced dead at the scene while five passengers on the bus were treated for minor injuries, reports Manchester Evening News.

Alexandra’s loved ones said they were "heartbroken" by her loss.

They are being supported by specially trained officers as they cope with thetragedy.

The family’s statement read: "Alex was our beautiful kind daughter, a loved sister and granddaughter.

"We are all heartbroken. She was loved by everyone who knew her and will be truly missed.”

Alex’s sister Bethany added: “Not only my sister, but my soul mate. I was so lucky to be a part of Alex’s life and she will go on with me for the rest of mine in spirit.”

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Cheshire police on 101.
