Woman reveals her twice-divorced single friend is spending £540 a WEEK taking women out for dinner

DATING can be expensive, but one woman has revealed how her male friend forks out a staggering £540 a WEEK taking women out of dinner.

TV host Sami Lukis, 48, revealed how her twice-divorced single dad friend John finds himself splashing out thousands each month on women he doesn’t know.

The unlucky-in-love chap, 58, found himself on the dating scene five years ago, and now goes on up to five dates a week with different women each time.

Sami revealed how “old school gentleman” John’s idea of a perfect first date is a “delightful meal with all the trimmings”.

She wrote on Whimn: “He recoils in horror at the very mention of ever splitting the bill.

“I’m not privy to John’s financial status but I’ve never seen a private jet parked in his driveway, so I’m guessing he’s no gazillionaire.”

She said for John to splash out £110 per meal around four or five times a week is a “ridiculous” sum of money to find Mrs Right.

Sami revealed how John’s friends had done the maths and worked out he had spent around £27,000 last year on dinners with total strangers.

They tried to do an intervention but he “politely told them all to remove themselves from his romantic and financial affairs” and said it was a “wise investment in his future”.

Sami debated whether John’s approach to dating was likely to impress potential women, for good and bad reasons.

She said: “One thing that’s guaranteed to turn most singles off, is tight-arse behaviour.

“A friend of mine was super excited about her first date with the hot guy she’d met at the gym.

“Then he took her to a Mexican restaurant and pulled out a two-for-one shop-a-docket to pay for HIS half of the bill. There was no second date.”

I’m not privy to John’s financial status but I’ve never seen a private jet parked in his driveway, so I’m guessing he’s no gazillionaire.

However, she added: “I do worry that John’s generosity makes him a prime target for a dubious band of singles called ‘sneaters’.

“These ‘sneaky eaters’ only accept dates so they can dine out without having to foot the bill or deliberately order the most expensive thing on the menu, knowing they won’t have to pay.

“Money can’t buy you love. But it can buy you a lovely meal, great wine and if you’re lucky, decent conversation.

“If that’s good enough for John, well, who are we to judge?

“And if he does manage to find true love in the process, I’m sure he’ll be the first one to say, that feeling is priceless.”

So what do you think? Good investment in love or waste of money?

Sami previously revealed how she is unable to have kids and was brutally dumped by toyboy partner who told her ‘it’s not you, it’s your uterus’.

She said married friends ostracise her for being single… and she wishes they’d stop giving her dating advice.
