How Kate Middleton got THOSE great legs and even Prince Harry’s joked they’re ‘killer’
SHE’S praised for being one of the most stylish members of the royal family and rarely puts a foot out of line when it comes to fashion.
Kate Middleton, 37, looked sensational yesterday at Bletchley Park, but it wasn’t just her £1,750 Alessandra Rich dress that grabbed attention.
Mum-of-three Kate showed off her incredible legs as she met the crowds gathered in the sun at the exhibition.
While the Middleton genetics clearly play a significant role in her "killer legs" – as Prince Harry calls them – Kate is known to love staying fit and active.
She’s an avid skier, some say better that Prince William, and the duchess likes to workout doing yoga and Pilates and has also enjoyed rowing, cross-country running and hockey.
A royal insider told the Daily Mail: “Kate is an exercise junkie. Pippa and Kate take their toned physiques extremely seriously. And mother Carole, in her 60s, is in extremely good shape.”
In the past, the two sisters are said to have spent time working out at Kate’s home, Kensington Palace.
The royal source said: “They worked hard in the gym at Kensington Palace, starting with cardio warm-ups, hip raises, diagonal and reverse lunges, stomach crunches, squats, calf raises, bridges and push-ups.”
And of course Kate loves to run around with her kids – they even go spider-hunting in their Kensington garden – and the young family enjoy being outside with their dog Lupo.
Kate’s legs also nearly made Prince Harry’s best man speech, when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge tied the knot in 2011.
According to royal author Katie Nicholl, Harry was keen to mention Kate Middleton's "killer legs" in his speech, but his girlfriend at the time Chelsy Davy advised him against it – to avoid embarrassing his new sister-in-law.
In Ms Nicholl's royal biography Harry: Life, Loss, and Love, the younger Windsor's raucous best man speech was altered after allegedly consulting Chelsy, according to the Express.
Ms Nicholls writes: "[Chelsy] had helped Harry edit the best man’s speech, sensitively advising him to take out a line about Kate’s 'killer legs' that might have embarrassed the bride."
Appearing on the royal documentary Meghan and Harry: A Royal Baby Story, royal journalist Ashley Pearson revealed that Kate Middleton is much more restricted in what she can wear in comparison to her sister-in-law Meghan Markle.
Commenting on Kate's unique position in the Royal Family (and how this plays into her fashion choices), Ashley said: "Kate Middleton has a whole other set of rules and restrictions because she's going to be Queen.
"She and Meghan are not on the same page. Kate Middleton has to wear her skirts a certain length."
In fact, the expert claims that The Queen closely monitors Kate's outfits during public appearances – and isn't afraid to give feedback on them.
Gone are floaty, shorter hemlines, and in the place are weighted hems and typically stiffer materials.
Ashley added: "The Queen is regularly, allegedly, giving notes if she doesn't like a certain hem or a certain outfit on Kate, or certain colour tights."
For her royal tour Down Under in 2014, The Queen even hired her personal dresser Angela Kelly to give Kate a regal makeover.
This involved shifting the duchess’s image from high street to high end royal elegance – leading to her favouring pieces designed by Alexander McQueen and Alice Temperley and ditching “frilled, girlish frocks”.
And after the birth of her children, she also hired former editor of Vogue magazine, Virginia Chadwyck-Healey to help her up her fashion stakes and ditch her “mumsy” image.
A royal source told Daily Mail’s Richard Eden: “Ginnie is Catherine’s secret weapon.
“She has made a big difference to the Duchess’s wardrobe for public engagements and has helped give her a whole new sense of confidence.
“Catherine has been really impressed and is very grateful for her help.”
A royal expert claims Prince Harry wanted Kate and Meghan to be best friends, but they’re just too different.
And the royals are seen smiling, high-fiving and photobombing in this selfies.
