Strictly Come Dancing Xmas Special: Ann Widdecombe scores TWO points

Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special: Ann Widdecombe finally gets a TWO from Craig Revel Horwood after hilarious Cinderella routine

She was known for her consistently low scores, and regularly finished bottom of the leaderboard.

But Strictly Come Dancing’s Ann Widdecombe received a Christmas miracle during this year’s festive special, as she finally earned two points from ‘Mr Nasty’ judge Craig Revel Horwood.

The 71-year-old former politician won over the judges after dancing a Cinderella-themed American Smooth as the Ugly stepsisters with her former pro partner Anton Du Beke.

Hilarious: Ann Widdecombe received a Christmas miracle during the Strictly festive special, as she finally earned two points from ‘Mr Nasty’ judge Craig Revel Horwood

In the comedic routine, Ann and Anton delivered their own unique take on the ballroom classic, complete with some of their signature moves which saw Ann being dragged across the floor.

Despite a few mis-steps, the dance went down a storm with the panel, despite Craig admitting he was reluctant to give the pair a higher score.

Pleading with them to get into the Christmas spirit, Ann said: ‘You’ve always given me one, it is Christmas so give me two!’

Miraculous: After a hilarious Cinderella-themed routine, when Ann and her pro partner Anton Du Beke played the Ugly Stepsisters, Craig seemed reluctant to give them a high score

Score me high! After her American Smooth, Ann pleaded with Craig to score them more then just one point

In his typical cut-throat fashion, Craig responded: ‘I’m not feeling that generous darling!’

But luckily the rest of the panel – in appropriately fairytale-theme costumes – had much kinder words for Ann, with Darcy Bussell gushing: ‘You two were so glamorous out there, what a pair!

‘But really when you were in hold and when you were doing, she was passing you across, there were these lovely sweeping lines across those circles. It’s just wonderful to see you back on the dancefloor.’

Rejoice! But when the scores were revealed, Craig did in fact give Ann and Anton two points, resulting in a total score of 22 out of 40

Thrilled: The rest of the judges even gave the duo some positive critiques, with Darcy Bussell saying it was wonderful to see Ann back on the show after eight years away

Dressed as the Fairy Godmother, Shirley Ballas added: ‘Ann mirror mirror on the wall, you are the fairest of them all, ignore Craig you are going to the ball!’

And ever the Prince Charming Bruno Tonioli said: ‘My ladies I am overwhelmed I think it is impossible to in this world to find the correct terms to describe your beauty and grace.

‘No one can deny you, or resist you, you are a moral danger to all men, I am yours forever! You shall have the keys to my kingdom! Kiss me!’ as he fell comically into Anton’s arms.

It seemed that Ann and Anton’s dreams of a higher score would come true thanks to a bit of festive Strictly magic, with Craig shockingly awarding them his first ever two points, reaching a total of 22 out of 40.

Sadly this was not enough for the pair to be crowned Strictly’s Christmas champions, as this honour instead went to Aston Merrygold and Janette Manrara.
