Rapper Q Money accused of murdering fellow rapper

Cleveland rapper Q Money is facing a felony murder charge.

The up-and-coming emcee, whose real name is Qamar Akee Williams, turned himself into police in DeKalb County, Ga., on Thursday, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Williams, 23, has been charged with murder in connection to the shooting death of another rapper, Calvin Alexander Chappell, at an apartment located in the city of Dectaur on Monday morning.

In the warrant for Williams’ arrest, he is accused of having “allegedly caused the death of Calvin Alexander Chappell by shooting him multiple times with a handgun on April 15 at a Decatur, Georgia residence,” reports XXL.

According to the Journal-Constitution, the police report said that Chappell’s roommate allegedly saw Williams standing over the victim’s body following the shooting. Witnesses also told police that Williams and Chappell both knew each other, as they were both from Cleveland.

Following the success of his 2017 track “Work,” which has over 8.5 million views on YouTube, Williams was signed by Warner Bros. Records and Think It’s A Game Records last year.

Williams is currently being held without bond.
