Love Island: ITV bosses ‘cancel winners spin-off show’ in fear Amber and Greg will SPLIT before it airs

Plans for a spin-off show following Love Island winners Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea have been dropped, TV sources say.

The winning couple received a huge 48.82% of the vote during the grand finale last week, while their nearest rivals Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury gained almost half the votes at 25.56%.

But while many may have believed a spin-off could be on the cards, The Sun claims bosses don’t feel it would be right to follow the duo with cameras – especially as they’re not yet official.

In the past, Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham had their own show – but their romance came to an abrupt halt shortly after.

Similarly, third-place duo Chris Hughes and Olivia Attwood’s series Crackin’ On ended in disaster – and the pair ended up awkwardly splitting up in front of the nation.

A telly source told the publication: “It’s been a publicity disaster in previous years, when couples split before their show aired or appeared to get back together just as the programmes came out.

“Jack and Dani’s series was a perfect example last year, with everyone saying their relationship was fake.

“This year bosses want to take the heat off the contestants’ relationships, especially as it’s been such a choppy year for couples making a go of it.

“Instead they are focusing on Winter Love Island and want to nail the casting for that series.

“Of course, they’re keeping a close eye on their couples to spot any potential for spin-off shows, but at the moment it’s certainly not looking likely.”

Amber and Greg, however, appeared to hint they’re stronger than ever after life on the show.

During the reunion, Amber even hinted she’s considering a move overseas to Ireland to be with her new flame.
