Laverne Cox gives us life with naked illusion gown at Charlie's Angels premiere

If there’s anything that could cheer us up this cold Tuesday morning, it’s Laverne Cox absolutely slaying the game at the Charlie’s Angels premiere.

The Orange Is The New Black star always wows on the red carpet, but she stepped things up a notch as she celebrated the reboot in Los Angeles.

The 47-year-old rocked a naked illusion dress at the screening, with just a skirt panel stopping the gown from getting too NSFW.

Laverne’s dress was made up almost entirely of see-through black mesh, with small strips covering her chest and the panels at the front and back doing the very least in terms of coverage.

But if Laverne was worried about going commando in the daring dress, she didn’t show it, oozing confidence as she posed on the purple carpet.

The LGBTQ+ activist paired the gown with a slick bun and dramatic eye make-up as she cosied up to Charlie’s Angels director and star Elizabeth Banks at the premiere.

Laverne makes a cameo in the film opposite the new trio of ass-kickers, Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska, but with this look, she may as well have been the leading lady.

The actress also posed alongside RuPaul’s Drag Race queens Peppermint, Farrah Moan and Nina West, with the girl gang totally giving us life.

Elsewhere at the premiere, it was a celebration of girl power as the stars of Charlie’s Angels ruled the roost.

Kristen, who plays Sabina in the movie, made a statement in a metallic multi-coloured dress featuring cut-outs over the abs, while Ella (Jane) opted for all out glamour in a full length nude gown.

Naomi, who plays Elena, rounded off the trio in a black lace dress and chunky boots, while director Elizabeth – who also plays Bosley – joined them in a chic ankle-length dress with a metallic skirt and cut-outs.

The ladies of the movie were joined by Sir Patrick Stewart and Noah Centineo at the premiere, ahead of the movie’s release on 15 November – with Noah accessorising with a crutch after dislocating his knee.

The reboot comes 16 years after Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, which starred Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu and Drew Barrymore as the titular Angels, who made their debut in 2000’s Charlie’s Angels.

This trio, of course, followed the legendary original trio of Farrah Fawcett, Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith of the 1970s TV show.

Charlie’s Angels is out in cinemas on 15 November.
