Emmerdale cast: Maya Stepney star Louisa Clein admits to ‘epic fail’ during ITV commute
Louisa Clein, 40, has opened up about a particularly funny mishap that she experienced during a recent train journey. The Emmerdale star, who is best known for her role as Maya Stepney, shared the awkward moment with her 11,000 Instagram followers yesterday. She captured her “epic fail” with a photo of a homemade dinner in a tupperware container, accompanied by a particularly messy Post-it Note dispenser. The actress at first revealed that she was proud of her organisational skills when she took the initiative to pack her own lunch for the trip.
However, the soap favourite soon realised that she had forgotten to pack a fork or a spoon to eat the meal with, forcing her to improvise with a stationary item.
She explained the sticky situation to fans with the caption: “When you’re so well organised you bring a homemade dinner on the train.
“But forget a fork or spoon so using a post it. #notanadforpostit #epicfail#mystationarywillsmell #commutetoleeds#stilltastesgood.”
Louisa’s fans were quick to comment on her mistake, with many relating to the star’s forgetfulness.
One follower wrote: “Had to do this loads of times.”
Another joked: “You spoon,” along with a crying laughing emoji.
A third fan commented: “I think carrying post-its is a sign of someone who is highly organised.”
A fourth also empathised with the star: “I’ve gone to work before and forgot a fork or spoon so used a screwdriver.”
Louisa is currently embroiled in a controversial Emmerdale storyline, which sees her character Maya grooming her boyfriend’s teenage step-son, Jacob Gallagher, who is played by Joe Warren-Plant.
Maya’s devious manipulation hasn’t yet been discovered by her partner, David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden).
She shared her views on the divisive plot in an interview with What’s On TV, praising her young co-star on his acting skills.
She revealed: “It is difficult, but Joe-Warren Plant is a joy to work with and he’s so mature for his age.
“He’s been on the show for such a long time and has been working with adults since he was eight years old, so he’s very happy around adults. You wouldn’t necessarily pin him as 16 when you met him.”
Louisa also took the opportunity to address backlash from some Emmerdale viewers due to the story’s sensitive nature.
The soap has been working closely with children’s charity Barnardos to make sure that the dark topic is handled correctly.
She added: “We were very clear that we want to tell the story that this is wrong and something that shouldn’t be let go of. There needs to be some form of retribution.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV.
