Colton Underwood bashed for remarks about women’s periods

Former “Bachelor” Colton Underwood is being ripped apart on social media for saying it is “so gross” for women to wear stained underwear.

On E!’s “LadyGang” talk show, host Keltie Knight asked Underwood, 27, if she were married to him, if he would notice whether she was wearing regular underwear or stained — but clean — underwear that she uses only during her menstrual cycle.

“Throw them away and go buy new underwear,” he responded. “I, as a husband and a boyfriend, will go buy you new underwear. That is so gross.”

Knight and her co-hosts, Becca Tobin and Jac Vanek, defended reusing stained underwear, saying it is a common thing for women to do.

The reality star then likened periods to pooping, saying, “So if you s–t your pants, are you going to just wash them? No, you’re throwing them away.”

Several female viewers criticized Underwood on social media, pointing out that his comments were immature. One woman tweeted, “Why is anyone surprised @colton is grossed out by periods? He is an actual man-child.”

Another said, “If my husband had talked about my period about being “disgusting”, like @colton, before we got married I would’ve reconsidered (unless we were in Elementary school at the time), it is not ok to make us feel embarrassed about how WE choose to handle OUR menstruation.”

Underwood has not responded to the criticism online. His reps did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
