Briana DeJesus: My Relationship Is Great! Now Stay Out of It!
Reality TV stardom has its benefits and drawbacks.
On the plus side, you can become fabulously wealthy without ever doing any real work.
But, as Briana DeJesus and other members of the Teen Mom family have learned the hard way, one of the downsides is that sharing your personal life with the world can have a majorly negative impact on your relationships.
Fortunately, Bri is applying the information she’s gleaned from past breakups to her current relationship.
DeJesus is dating Johnny Rodriguez these days, and she says the smartest decision that she and her man have made together was also the first decision they made together — to keep their relationship out of the spotlight as much as possible.
Bri opened up about her relationship in an interview with E! News this week, and she says her time with Johnny has been gloriously drama-free, largely because the couple has worked hard to maintain their privacy.
“We’re about to hit a year in May so we’re planning a first anniversary trip,” Briana told the outlet.
“Everything has been good. He’s great. He’s super attentive to the girls. He loves the girls, the girls enjoy him and everything’s been good.”
“I like him because he doesn’t rush this relationship. We both have been taking it slow,” she explained.
“We’re not looking into having any kids right now. We’re not looking into moving in together. We’re not looking into getting married. We’re just enjoying each other and taking things how it is.”
As opposed to Briana’s relationship with Javi Marroquin, which moved at breakneck speed from the start, Bri says she and Johnny are intent on taking things slowly.
“And maybe one day we’ll talk more into detail about what we’re going to do in the future. We’ve been good. No rush this time,” she tells E!
As for Bri’s reality TV fame, she says it’s just one of many challenges she and Johnny have taken in stride over the course of their year together.
“He’s brand new to this. He’s working into my life,” she explained.
“I’m the one who has two kids from two different baby daddies.
“I’m the one that has the crazy family, but I also don’t want to throw in social media because I feel like that’s a whole other world and people can be mean and cruel so I just want to keep our relationship private as much as possible.”
Bri also says she’s managed to keep the relationship a secret from her oldest daughter, 7-year-old Nova.
“Nova only knows John as my friend. I’ve never introduced Nova to John as my boyfriend. I don’t plan on doing that any time soon,” she shared.
“I don’t show affection around John when Nova’s around. I try to keep it super friendly, super cool.”
Referring to her relationships with her two baby daddies, Bri joked:
“Juggling three different men in one time is hard.”
Love her or hate her, the girl knows how to laugh at herself.
