‘Bachelor’ frontrunners Peter Weber and Mike Johnson on becoming show’s next lead

“The Bachelorette” Hannah Brown is handing out her final rose Tuesday night, and Bachelor Nation is already buzzing with predictions about who will become the next “Bachelor.”

Contestants Peter Weber and Mike Johnson, who were both eliminated this season, are considered frontrunners, but have different opinions about what it would take for them to accept the lead role.

Weber, who came in third place, told People that although the show didn’t work out for him the first time around, it’s “given me hope that I have more love to find.”

“I wouldn’t say no to trying it again because I know the experience works,” the 27-year-old pilot said. “And I’m hopeful that my person is right around the corner.”

Johnson, 31, is more hesitant about the opportunity and said he needs to have a conversation with producers first.

“There would be a lot of questions that I would want to ask,” the financial portfolio manager told “Extra.” “I am paying attention to everything that they say because love is a very real thing, and I don’t care about throwing baseballs in a game … who I say ‘I love you’ to, I mean that — whether it’s on TV or not.”

According to “Entertainment Tonight,” fans will have to wait a while longer before finding out if either Weber or Johnson — or Tyler Cameron or Jed Wyatt, who are still on the show — will be named “The Bachelor.”

“You will not get [the ‘Bachelor’ announcement] at the finale,” host Chris Harrison said. “It would be premature to make the call now, before [‘Bachelor in Paradise’]. It wouldn’t be smart at all… there’s guys you haven’t seen yet.”
